Lift Off!

I’m a day late with this, but yesterday’s ‘official’ launch of Cherry Tree Films took up quite a lot of the day, what with website tweaks and making sure everyone knew of our evolution from Design Scotland Video to our new name of Cherry Tree Films.

We first shared our new name with the lovely folks at Hopetoun House at their Wedding Open Day on Sunday.  We had a great time and it was brill to catch up with some of our favourite Wedding Suppliers, including Blue Sky Photography, Elemental Photography, Rankine Photography, Freja Fashion and of course the utterly amazing Planet Flowers.

Gemma and the team deserve a little bit of a special mention here, for providing us with the most amazing Cherry Tree display – utterly brilliant and even more so as we only gave her a few days notice. Just look at this…..stunning isn’t it!

We really wanted to just thank everyone for their support, both in the run up to the launch (where not many people knew) to the past couple of days where our friends and colleagues have flooded us with good wishes for the future.

One phrase that stuck in my head on Sunday, was from Geoff at 21CC Fireworks, and that was the suggestion of what to call us?  As ‘video’ is dead, what were we now?  We told him we’re simply Wedding Filmmakers….to which he then suggested that we should be ‘cherry-ographers’.  Quite like that, wonder if it would catch on?!

So, thanks everyone.  We are really excited about the future and sharing all our great films and plans for this year.

It’s going to be a blast!

Take care

Had to laugh – ‘video is dead’….. so why do you host your clips on a site called ‘Vimeo’ and why are you happy to display awards by the IOV (contains the word ‘videography’ does it not?). More to the point, what do cherry trees have to do with what you film/video? Do you actually use film? Or do you record using a video recorder of sorts? Sorry, the message you send out is confused and a poor attempt at marketing. Nice videos (not films!) let down by mediocre marketing.
