Team Paris – le film – Les Togs

Do you remember seeing a trailer a few months back about a trip to Paris last September (2010)?

Well the past few days have seen some frantic editing (outwith normal working hours!) and the completion of the main short film.  All just in time for our superb Paris showcase, held yesterday afternoon at Elemental Towers featuring the talents of Niels & Alie of BlueSky Photography, Jay & Christina of Elemental Weddings and Donna & Mark of Archibald Photography.  These guys shared with us some absolutely stunning photos of the trip, and even a couple of nice ones of me (astounding I know!)

What’s it all about? The recipe was simple:

Three brilliant photography companies and their families.
Stu and I. (DVD2 and DVD1)
Paris.
Kronenbourg.
Far too much fun.
Amazing Autumn Sunshine.

We had an absolute blast, with one and a half days of the trip devoted to a proper photoshoot in various locations around Paris. I’ll let the film describe the trip in more detail, but suffice to say that it was heaps of fun and this group of people are just awesome. Talented photographers yes, but just genuinely amazing people too.

So, the film?  The first two parts are filmed mainly with little handheld flipcams during the trip over to Paris and the touristy day afterwards.  These cams were looked after by one member of each ‘family’ so they are now affectionately known as Jed-Cam, Jack-Cam and Jay-Cam.    🙂

The main shoot day is mostly our footage (Stu and I) as we followed this mad bunch of folks through the streets of Paris.

Actually looking back, it’s all pretty nuts.  Think that’s genuinely the best introduction I can give.  Nuts!

I’m famous for my disclaimers (excuses).  The footage is rough and ready, all super chilled holiday style stuff, the challenge was to edit it into something watchable.  I’ll let you decide if I managed that – 14mins of mayhem.

Thank you BIG STYLE once again to everyone.  Jay, Hannah, Niels, Jed, Christina, Donna, Alie, Mark, Beth, Stuart & Jack….thank you all for making the trip so much fun!  Thanks also to Yvonne (and Callum) for your support while we were away, and also for the support for those crazy crazy crazy late nights of editing last week!

Hope to see you all in October, wherever in the world that might take us 🙂  GO TEAM PARIS!  (secretly hoping for Go Team Auckland next time?!)

Enjoy it.

Steve

  1. That we absolutely LOVE it doesn’t even begin to sum it up. As I said when we saw it for the first time ‘I don’t want it to end.’ Thank you for immortalising us on the silver screen in such style. 😉 C&J x

  2. Brillliant, well done guys!! what fun you have had and what beautiful children you have had to help you! I am sure you will need to bring a dressmaker on future trips 😉
